: Stellar kayaking here! There's a rental place right at entrance to the Platte River Campground area. It's about a 3-4 hour trip through beautiful wetlands on the crystal clear Platte River. When you arrive at Platte River Point, there are pristine sand dunes on your left and wetlands on the right, leading out to Lake Michigan. Stunning. : Little Platte Lake is just a 5-10 minute drive. It's not very swimmable and a bit muddy but I saw people fishing here and it looks like a good fishing lake.   #fishing   #lake | June 22, 2013, 7:43 p.m.

: Right by lake Michigan dunes. Great hiking. | June 12, 2013, 6:03 p.m.

: North Bar Lake is nearby. It's off the beaten path and not as well known as many other spots in the area. It's beautiful. There's a river that collects into North Bar Lake, which forms another short stream feeding into Lake Michigan. There's also a sand dune right next to the gorgeous sandy beach on Lake Michigan. Gorgeous. Photo above.   #Dunes   #Sleeping-Bear-Dunes   #Sightseeing   #Attractions | June 7, 2013, 1:40 p.m.

: There are a lot of very pretty views in this area. My favorite is the Empire Bluffs in Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore. If you go on a clear day, you can see the whole area, including the sand dunes and Glen Lake and Lake Michigan, which sometimes look bright blue and green like the Caribbean.   #Warren-Dunes   #Hiking   #Sightseeing   #Attractions   #Dunes | June 7, 2013, 1:39 p.m.

: If you need groceries or supplies, there are two grocery stores in the area. One is in downtown Empire and the other in downtown Glen Arbor.   #Food   #Groceries | June 7, 2013, 1:39 p.m.

: The nearby towns of Glen Arbor and Empire are popular tourist destinations. Glen Arbor has a lot to offer, including Arts Tavern, which is popular place for food. "The Friendly" in Empire is popular as well.   #Food   #Entertainment   #Attractions | June 7, 2013, 1:38 p.m.

: While you're here, the Dune Climb is a must-see. Empire Bluffs and Pyramid Point are also worth a trip. They provide two of the prettiest views in the State of Michigan. Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive has some pretty views as well and is less of a hike.   #Sleeping-Bear-Dunes   #attractions   #Hiking   #SightSeeing   #Dunes | June 6, 2013, 3:58 p.m.

: There is a short hike through the forest and sand dunes that goes right to Lake Michigan. Beautiful.   #hiking   #lake   #beautiful | June 6, 2013, 12:21 p.m.

: We got a great secluded walk-in campsite. Couldn't see any other campers. Most of the other campsites at this campground aren't as private however.   #private | June 6, 2013, 12:20 p.m.
