Mynamesbabes: I stayed here from 7/12 - 7/14. We reserved two spots next to each other for 6 campers. The fire pits were well-constructed and the sites were spacious. There were quite a few RVs near us, though there were also some other tents. The West campground only had one restroom/shower facility (that I'm aware of), but I rarely had to wait to use a toilet. The facilities were modern and updated but they did seem to have some issues with cleanliness (e.g. wet floors). The campground is near the road, so there is some traffic noise. Our sites were closer to the entrance of the west side of the campground, and were a 5 - 10 minute walk to the North Higgins Lake beach. Hiking trails in the state park start across the road from the campground and were easy to access. There's really not a huge difference between the West and East campgrounds. Site numbers start at 1 in West and count upwards through East; it's just that one is on one side of the park entrance and the other is on the other side of the park entrance. From what I could tell, West did seem to have the nicer/updated facilities. | July 16, 2013, 9:13 p.m.
Sasquatch: North Higgins Lake West campground is rarely completely full so you can usually find a campsite here. 8 campsites are first-come first-serve but most are reservable. #reservations | June 24, 2013, 2:44 p.m.
